My studies in social sciences familiarized me with the topics that have accompanied me over the last seven years of my professional career. Inequalities of opportunity and education are still significantly less pronounced in Germany than in most other European countries. Although these circumstances have been documented many times and examined in academic papers, it was nevertheless a formative experience for me to see how many families, children, young people, and adults this is still something they experience every day, and how much of a difference it can make to offer these people good educational opportunities later in life. However, digitalization often presents these people with even greater professional challenges, as dealing with digital media is not part of everyday life in many of these families, and they often cannot afford the necessary equipment. My passion is to develop offerings that enable people, regardless of their prior knowledge, to acquire digital skills that they can use in today's job market. I also develop programs for students to confront them with the challenges of the digital world as early as possible and to provide them with the tools, through exciting and fun projects, to ultimately turn these challenges into opportunities. The future lies in digitalization, and we should all be able to participate equally in it.
