Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics - STEM (DE: MINT) will play an increasingly important role on the way to a digital future. It is all the more important to provide extracurricular educational opportunities and to give all children and youngsters, regardless of their origin, access to STEM education and in particular to get girls interested in STEM.

Funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the Regionalmanagement Mittelhessen, in cooperation with the district of Gießen and the Technical University of Central Hesse (THM), has set itself the task of doing exactly this over the next three years. The "MINTmit" project aims to improve the framework conditions for good STEM education and to promote existing cluster structures that provide extracurricular STEM educational opportunities for children and youngsters. Together with, for example, clubs, youth fire brigades and local companies, educational offers in the form of "mobile STEM laboratories" are to be expanded even more in rural areas.

On behalf of the Regionalmanagement Mittelhessen, MIND takes over the coordination and communication of the cluster for the development of the "MINTmit-Netzwerk Mittelhessen". The aim of the coordination office is to sustainably network existing regional STEM actors in the long term, to bundle the offers and to convey them to the target group.
