As a young girl, I was shocked when my mother explained to me that girls aren't valued as highly as boys everywhere in the world, and that women in our country, too, haven't had the same rights and opportunities for a long time. This is just one serious injustice in the world that has preoccupied me ever since. During my studies, my interest focused on the persistent disadvantage and discrimination against individuals and social groups based on skin color, religion, gender, or sexuality. Working for an educational institution opened my eyes to the prospect of being able to actively combat these injustices, even if only on a small scale. Being able to help individuals to confidently stand up for themselves and achieve equal opportunities for personal and professional development is what motivates me for MIND. In addition to intercultural and international cooperation, our environment is also close to my heart, and as a diver, I am particularly passionate about the ocean and its inhabitants. Protecting these can begin right here in Hesse, with projects promoting the sustainable use of resources and the prevention of plastic waste and other environmental pollution. I firmly believe that careful and considerate interaction with one another and with the environment is the basis for meeting the social challenges of the future.
